I’m loving this restoration thread! Good work, keep the updates coming. You’ve got a really nice base to work with. The interior looks really clean for the miles. I admire the cleanliness of the engine bay also. My project 98-0563 with ~ 180k miles has so many scrapes to the bay’s paint.

So while I wait for the rest of my ABS stuff to arrive I decided I would focus some more on the interior. To me, there’s nothing better than fresh interior parts. I mean, we spend the most time there (when we actually get the time to drive them)

So since my car already came with the badge number intact I decided it would be nice to get a new armrest lid and blank badge then swap over my plate to the blank badges encasing. More on that later.

I’m glad I ordered this when I did. It seems more and more things are going extinct, even while sitting in my cart! I tried ordering bumper lenses today and one side was now discontinued

It’s a good day when Acura leaves after dropping you parts and the Honda parts delivery truck comes rolling in behind it.

My car came with an LS intake tube which honestly I didn’t catch at first glance. Took me a few days of staring to discover it. Glad they still made these, the new rubber has such a nice look.

The other project today was removing the Mugen pedal covers and replacing them with new OEM units.

I did these on my hatchback on all 3 and what a pita! They are also pedalgate like that itr that went on bringa trailer . The clutch has heavy wear with little miles for no reason. One reason why I haven't done the same thing. My em1 the pedal cover was totally missing. It has a clutch that requires super human strength to push. The wear on that pedal cover is stupid. The rubber is different than the original 90s stuff. I have the itr ones with the rubber plugs. I have been looking for the jdm accessories version that is all metal. I am loving the the thread. A lot of dejavu. Does the car have nsx lug nuts?

The car actually had Mugen lugs and locks. Which I swapped for OEM units. Also got a few more things today.

The struggle is real...

So, this car came with deleted ABS. We were unsure how far the problem spread. Did the cut wires? Is the abs ECU there? This was all concern. Last night we decided was the night to try and tackle most of it. Here’s what we have so far.

99 GS-R ABS pump and lines
99 GS-R ABS Bracket and hardware
99 GS-R ABS relay
99 GS-R Prop valve

The car has stainless steel braided lines in the wells and from the master cylinder to the wheel wells. They deleted the OEM prop valve in replacement of a adjustable bias valve. Trash. My buddy will be accepting these parts as payment for his labor helping swap it over. Good deal.



All in a nights work. Just awaiting the wheel well lines tomorrow from Honda. Then I’ll continue tackling the brakes with new OEM calipers, pads, and rotors.

The snag we’ve hit now is the wiring for the abs. We thought it was it’s own harness and I’d find one on eBay somehow. This doesn’t seem to be the case. From the looks at a DC2 at a local junkyard it seems it’s apart of the dash/headlight harness. I don’t want to splice anything on this so I’m assuming I’m going to need to find an oem ITR dash harness? Idk. Kind of at a stand still right now.

You might be able to use a GSR cabin harness from same year.

It’s a challenge to find even the GSR full cabin harness complete. I’ve seen a few claiming to be complete but still needed repair.

Unfortunately, it is part of the main cabin harness. I read some evap wires may be in different locations on the gsr cabin. No clue if that's correct.
