Window Switch Replacement

Post by CW FL5 CTR » Sat Dec 07, 2024 6:51 pm

Does anyone know if they make an aftermarket replacement for the driver side door window switch? The switch for the driver side window is popping up and you have to press it down for it to work, I think it is a common problem? I took it apart and it looks like the plastic that holds the button down has cracked.

Any luck on a replacement? I'll glance through the shelves and see if I have any spare sets if that may help

Not trying to skirt advertisement requirements here, but this is a product that Golden Era Parts could reproduce if there is sufficient interest, just not sure if that interest exists.

I've dabbled in 3d printing for clips and nylon components, but 3D printed products do not meet the quality of an OEM part. To have it reproduced with injection molding, the costs of each little part would be insignificant, but the tooling costs would be in the $2-$4 thousand range, meaning that if only 500 sold over a 5 year period, the costs would be $8.00+ each. To make it worthwhile with engineering investments, etc. would mean the part would need to sell for $20-30, even though its a tiny piece.

Thoughts on if people would pay that?
