My other CW 98 type r
Dont ask me why but for some reason I couldnt resist. The transaction happened late last night and I only snapped one picture:
Its pretty much stock. I know the exhaust (from cat back) has been modified. The stereo is aftermarket. An aftermarket radiator and a spoon rad cap. But everything else is glorious nineties honda. Ill get a full photo shoot in a couple days when I have time.
Specs: 98 Civic Type R
Engine: B16b
Miles: 216xxx Kilometers
Color: Championship White
Plan to keep it pretty much original/stock. I may get a hytech twin loop exhaust for it as I really enjoy my itr's exhaust profile. I will likely run SSR Firenze's on it. It drives and runs really well. Once I get suspension/rims/exhaust figured out, it will get aligned and ill try to put some serious miles on this thing. Then I will try to do something that will likely never happen, just clean the engine bay and keep it stock. I have an extra k20 but I have always wanted a b16b and I think im ok leaving this stock. No reason to modify everything, right?

Where did you source this car?

Thanks! Its a busy time for me with trying to prep the itr for the track and snowdays, but ill get some pictures and updates next week. The interior is really clean and the exterior is decent, with some "container" love marks. I may try and source a different hood from one of the jdm importers, as its been repainted and has at least one "sticker fade" left over.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 5:07 pm Heck yes! Well..... my test drive was rather brief and through a residential area, but my impressions are: wheres the torque? Its been a long time since i have been in a b16a (or even b18c) hatch and driving the k20 itr or the 600whp sti around gives a bit more butthole tickle, but what I will say is that when you think you should be shifting at 6k theres still 3k rpm to go. I havnt driven in that range on roads where that will be needed yet, so my first impressions were a little underwhelmed. But the car feels really well balanced and I dont want to just put a k20 in it so that it "feels" fast. I want to push the b16b to its limits and try to explore this platform that we were neglected for so long.
tldr gutless, but without having pushed it into its real range, unaware of the potential.
This is gonna be confusing: the guy that bought my spoon cluster sold the ctr to the guy that bought my ek hatch shell, and he had it for a little bit and decided to go buy a hellcat, so i snapped it up.

Hello noahf,
Very Nice!! Are you in the United States or Canada? The reason why I ask is that from what I understand the US 25 year import requirements would not allow a person to import a 98 JDM until 2023. I was only able to import my 2000 CTR RB in 2017 because I am in Canada.

Still havnt touched or even seen the car since i bought it. Been ultra busy and then this weekend decided to rain, which ruined all of SoCal. Anyways, I did find some wheels. I saw em for sale and have a buying problem.
with og boxes:
should be on the road starting next week. We shall see.

You guys have thoughts on this? I really like the oem 15’s better than the 16 rega for some reason. It may be the color.
