I hope this can be a thread where we share the best 17 wheel options for ITR spec wheels. I hope to learn about the brands, size specs including offsets and widths, looks, and weight specs of various wheels.

The goal I think is to have very lightweight wheels so as to not increase weight too much. Forged options would likely be the best? But the bigger tires will probably also increase weight too?

I'd want the wheels to look good too. If it looks like a Fast and Furious ricer I don't care how good the specs are.

I wonder if we can get away with 7 inch wide wheels without having fender issues? Maybe wider? And I don't know how to determine very precisely if a certain offset will fit properly.

Another question would be the tire size specs that would fit the wheels and the car.

I'm a pretty diehard fan of Honda recommendations, and I know they often said that 15 inch/16 inch were the best for handling(AFAIK). But I'm interested in 17's b/c of the much wider range of available tires. And for me this is really for my dd which is a gs-r with 5 lug. I'm not that interested myself in putting on 17's on my ITR. But others may be (Yoshi).

It seems like the options are somewhat limited for our 5X114.3 lug configuration.

I've heard of 17x9 working for autocross, but it seems like a very tight fit. But I think 17s open up a lot more options due to it being a more common 5 lug bolt pattern for modern FWD cars today.

17in RPF1s come in reasonable offsets, some look to be the sizing used for stock class autox 8th gen and up civics so I can see them working on an ITR.

SSR Type C RS's and Type C's might be an option too if you can find them used. I recall that white R that was riced out in Florida had them, that was probably the only thing I liked about that car, doing some searches, the offsets seem ITR friendly

I think there might be a decent tire selection, but after having on a 40 series profile 18in on my VW GTI from the factory, I rather have more meat on my tire. (Scared of bending a wheel on a low profile tire if Im on an SSR or RPF1)

For integras, isn't it ideal to stay with a 23in tall tire?

Hmm tire being 23 inches is interesting, if true would be a good benchmark.

Since there was a question on compatibility see link above to run options .
I footnote with I'm old (sort of feeling like I need to change screen name to Bunta, [minus the street cred])....so I don't think 17" wheels make sense on an Integra [dc2] for DD unless looking for rice factor[says the guy with the vented carbon hood], track applications deliver better tire\performance options where streets + thin side walls = bent (lightweight) wheels

Been meaning to reply and kept getting sidetracked. :lol:

Yeah, nothing wrong with 17’s in particular... it’s just always been tough to find a tire that maintains a stock(ish) diameter. One of the great things about these cars is that the suspension is awfully good for what it is (econo-car based). The front suspension tends to run out of travel for the upper arm about the same time that you’re running out of room for the tire. If you go to a taller tire, you’re going to hit the tire earlier in the suspension travel and limit total travel potential. It also means that your chassis ride height is higher (since half the wheel/tire is below the axle line). The upshot being that you’ve got to lower the suspension even more to make up for the tall tires... and you’re doing this with less travel. Now that you’ve got quite a bit less travel, you’ve got to bump the front rates to make up for the limited travel and down the rabbit hole you go.

Having said this, maybe there are more options out there than the last time I looked? The options in 15” are really damn good right now... I can’t imagine there’s a solid need to go to 17’s?

Thanks for that link, super cool wheel size diagram. Although I'm still trying to wrap my head around all those measurements.

Yes lol, 17's have potential to be rice factor. And good point about thin sidewalls and less comfort, along with possible bent wheels which would suck. Something to consider.

Looks like on that diagram the total wheel height with 17/40/215 would be 604mm. While the oem spec at 15/55/195 is 596mm. So a +8mm wheel height, which is <1cm, doesn't seem like much to me.

Furthermore, the total wheel height in jdm oem spec of 16/45/215 is 600mm.

You may be right. Just looked up 15" tire options. Seems like a lot more choices than when I looked them up previously.
